UPMC Northwest is a joke. It's a shame this is the closest hospital to where I live. If I were to ever have a medical emergency, I wouldn't trust these people with my life. My father recently visited there,... more complaining of joint stiffness, severe back pain and muscle pain, a fever, and a bite on the back of his leg, along with a nasty rash. I'm not even a doctor and I could clearly tell it was a tick bite. They sent him home with no antibiotics or answers. What kind of idiots work there? I don't understand how any of these people have jobs in the healthcare field. They make you feel unimportant, like you're wasting their time, and they're rude. Almost every experience I've had there was bad, and I've heard many horrible experiences from others. They rush you out of there making you feel even worse than you did coming in. My dad left there still worried and in more pain. He went to get a second opinion and of course it was a tick bite and his doctor gave him medicine to prevent Lyme Disease. You put your trust into these people considering they're "doctors" and "nurses", only for them to tell you nothing is wrong and make you feel like you don't know what you're talking about. If you have a medical issue and can avoid going there, please drive the extra miles and find a different healthcare facility.
